The Book Charmer by Karen Hawkins will be the perfect Hallmark Movie. This book is a quick read with romance, the search for a home, and friends becoming family. Hawkins includes touches of magical realism that are written seamlessly into the story and do not detract from the main story lines. The novel follows the life of Grace who, along with her sister Hannah, moved through the foster system before finding a home with Mama G. We also meet Sarah, who is the 7th Dove daughter of her generation, meaning she will be the miracle her small town needs. When these two come together years later, neither has lived the life they imagined. They will have to learn to rely on each other to overcome the obstacles, in love, work, and with families, that have been laid in their way. This book is above average for this genre and will have you cheering for all of the characters.
