I have never read a Karen Hawkins' novel before, but the cover (beautiful), and the title (yes!) draw any book lover right to the book. "The Book Charmer," a witty and engaging title. I am eager to learn more about the characters, to see what happens to the little girl who loves to read and had a fun and wild and inquisitive imagination. Where does she end up, and what does she do with her childlike imagination in her adult life?
I always appreciate an author who can quickly engage a reader, who can create beautiful characters who the reader connects with in the first few paragraphs, and who leave the reader wondering, "what happens next?"
