Somewhat of an odd premise, I started reading at a distance, unsure if I want to look past the ir-reality of it and just go with it. We start off with Sarah's point of view, her love of reading. I happened to enjoy the author's descriptive nature, the magical quality to her story telling. Just like the book that "spoke" to Sarah, the author easily painted the images in my mind- they kind of flashed through in a reminiscent haze. It didn't sit right though, having the story take place in 2001. Just the way it's written and the surroundings, something about it felt more olden times. Juxtaposing Grace's "seeing red" to Sarah's "hearing books" was interesting. Quirky but I think I like it!
