My first impression of this story is a captivating blend of magical realism and small-town Southern sensibility. In just a few pages, I was charmed by Grace, Mama G., Sarah and Daisy. I think I'm going to love Dove Pond and all the fascinating characters who live there. It's a story of love, loss, grief, and starting over. I'm anticipating a wonderful friendship and a happily-ever after too. Books as a major element of the plot is an additional treat to be savored. I can't wait to read the rest of it!
