I love a book that combines history with mythology and fantasy. I’m realizing how much I enjoy that genre of book. I thought the relationships amount the characters was wonderful. The characters were well rounded and i felt like I truly understood them. Knew who they were.
I’m all about world-building and the author did a great job with this. I think it’s importantly to understand the history of these worlds of fantasy and The Bird King does a good job of, not only creating a new world, but making sure we understand this world’s past and present. At times it was a little slow. But overall r loved well. It’s an easy read, too. Somewhat slow paced for me, but I would still recommend this book!
