So often we see movies and books about a guy trying to lose his virginity. It's not often that we have a novel about a girl who wants to lose her virginity before college.
I know this book got a lot of hate. Some readers reviewed it claiming there was slut shaming and mean people, but I didn't find it that way at all. In fact this took me back to when I was a senior in high school gearing up for college and I could relate to the way Keely felt. The story is a little bit like a cliche movie of course, by its friends to lovers (which doesn't always happen in real life! Trust me on this), but it was still a fun read. It reminded me of a classic 80s John Hughes movie!
The back of the book said its for ages 14 and up. I have a 14 year old daughter and I think I would hold off a year or so before she reads it. Its a more older YA book. That being said it does come with the whole package, the butterflies of first love, the friendships we have when we are younger and how important it is to make sure you lose "it" to the right person!
