Let me start by saying I am so thankful and lucky to read an ARC of The Best Laid Plans.

Basic plot summary: Keely is a senior in high school and is the only virgin left in her group of friends. Not wanting to go to college inexperienced and having developed a crush on her college aged coworker, she decides to start gaining that experience. In order to gain experience and date the cool boy coworker, she figures she’ll have to lose her virginity in a plan involving her longtime, male, best friend.

The book is a little younger then my normal romance reads, being a YA/New Adult Rom-Com. I think this book is perfect though for young adults as the main characters are 18 graduating high school and in their early 20’s. Especially for those in high school or going into college and those who want to dip their toes in contemporary romance- this is a must read. Also these topics and ideas are all thing I know me and my friends antagonized over in school/college, and it is nice being able to see that rep in books.

Cameron Lund's writing was super easy to read and the characters were very realistic. I always had a good sense where the story was going while reading but honestly that is one of the great parts in reading/watching a Rom-Com, the ride to getting to that final scene!

Long story short: I enjoyed Best Laid Plans and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good Rom-Com or is looking book to bridge the gap from YA to a New Adult genre.
