The Best Laid Plans was everything I want from a rom-com novel. It was fun, funny and definitely had its romantic moments. The plot was a little weird at points, but I got over it pretty quickly because I loved the characters and their interactions. The writing was really good, it was fast and to the point instead of drinking on with meaningless descriptions which I really enjoyed.
I didn’t like the slit shaming moments in this book though, especially when it was marketed as sex positive. It definitely would have benefited from those parts being left out. The ending was really cute and I definitely think she ends up with the right guy.
I’d have loved to see a little bit more positivity as I mentioned before but overall it was a really decent YA rom-com and I can’t wait to read whatever Cameron Lund’s next book is! Perhaps that one will fix the mistakes this one made
