I don’t typically read YA, but The Best Laid Plans by Cameron Lund grabbed my attention from the get go. I ended up binge reading this yesterday and finishing up today. This YA romcom deals with mean girls-esque/typical high school drama prom/grad season, friends turned lovers, and self-discovery. I loved the writing style and it reminded me a lot of Jenny Han and Meg Cabot. I also loved how toxic and personable each of the characters were as well. I also liked Keely and Andrew’s friendship built in here. There were times where characters were unlikable, but that didn’t bother me so much. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves YA, is looking for a nice lighthearted read or is into a romcom.
