First off, the world and magic building is so unique and I have not seen anything like the world that Dhonielle Clayton created. The concept of magic creating beauty that is presented in this book is so fascinating. It is a magical fantasy mixed with mystery and I absolutely love that type of combination. While the world and description building was a bit of a slow start, it definitely paid off throughout the rest of the book. The writing is very extravagant and lush. Just the language style gave the book several bonus points. I also loved the development of some of the characters. I really enjoyed Camille and Remy. However I believe there could have been some more development into some of the other Belles. That being said, the villains in this story are very well thought. They are very dark and it adds so much more intrigue to this book. There were some very good plot twists throughout the book that kept me very hooked. The only subtraction point would be I was slightly focused by some turn of events near the end, but that could have just been me! All in all this was a lovely book that is very dark fantasy and I would definitely recommend it!
