This book surprised me! From the synopsis, I really didn't know if I would like it, as beauty and fashion are not really areas of interest for me. However, really liked Camellia and her relationship with her sisters. As we follow along Camellia's path, we learn about how she was raised, what she believes, and how these expectations shift as she learns the truth, which is quite dark at times. I liked how she grew throughout this book and though I wish she would have chosen other actions, I can see how it was necessary for the story.
The world is lush and the concept interesting. Is beauty most important and does it rule over all else?
Overall, great book and I'm looking forward to the second.
