The world that is in this book is easily one of my favorite. Well constructed, unique, and solid, the book truly captures one's attention as it goes along.

My favorite part? The writing style. Exquisite, lavish, enriching, just pure perfection. I truly felt sucked into the world of Orleans. The juxtaposition was quite interesting here as well; the beauty of the Belles disguising the ugly truths of their world.

My one complaint is sometimes the narrative was hard to follow, but I think that was more because of my own lack of focus versus the narrarator's words.

Sophia is such an interesting, well-crafted villain that sometimes I found myself screaming in utter rage at her- but this doesn't exempt Camellia from rage too. The emotions that this book caused me to feel were truly unprecedented and I look forward to reading the next book in this duology!
