The dark beauty of Orleans
I know we should focus on the main character but I would want to start with Remy Chevalier. I absolutely loved the complexity of his character from the initial serious giard protecting his Belle, Camellia to becoming a bit friendlier but still stiff, to learning more about his family and even to the points where he comforted her, hurt her to then save her. I mean, the guy was one of my absolute favorites in the series and his feelings for her over time change and it sort of blossoms into fierce loyalty and love to protect our MC who has her great moment and her dumb moments. The villain gave me chills from being a kind girl to someone so twisted she almost resembled the evil queen from snow white all over beauty and she makes the whole "beauty is pain and beauty is everything" into a whole new twist, showing us to be careful for what we wish for. Very vivid imagery, great intrigue and a complex world built of the concept of beauty truly gets dizzying but it is worth it.
