I had high hopes for this book because I love fantasy and dystopian novels, but I was sadly disappointed. On top of this, it ended on a CLIFF HANGER, so I had to read the second one in order to find out what happened (although the second one was better). The cover really caught my eye and it’s so gorgeous! The weird love triangle was so predictable and is such an overused trope. I love the idea of beauty being a commodity and the main character was like-able enough, but everything was just mediocre. I think I would have liked it much more without the love triangle trope and without the unnecessary plot twists throughout the entire story. I was expecting this to be right up my alley and I was just disappointed. I also think I would have enjoyed this more had I read this a few years ago - this might have been a bit too young for me? I’m not sure. I have a mixed bag of feelings after reading this.
