Magical, captivating, and dark are all words that come to mind when thinking about this wonderful masterpiece of a book. I absolutely loved every moment of this book and could not put it down. I got lost in this world that Clayton created, I could imagine how lush everything was and how beautiful the belles are. I liked the originality, I haven’t read any other book like this. It was very disturbing, yet interesting to be in a world where people are born “grey”, and that to be important you have to be beautiful. Which is where the belle’s come in, they have the powers to make anyone beautiful. Not just beautiful, but the belle’s can alter your shape, eye color, hair color, add freckles or remove them. Anything at all they have the power to change and to make you perfect. Camellia is such a powerful main character, she has always wanted to be the best Belle, and finally she is, but it comes at a cost. She finds out things aren’t as they seem and go much deeper and are darker. The ending had my jaw drop and I can’t wait to read the next one in this series
