They say beauty is only skin deep, and this book is proof of that. I was excited by the pretty cover and interesting description, but it doesn’t go must farther than that.
The book does pick up in places but mostly it’s borning, but I have been wanting to read this book for so long that I don’t want to quit. I felt like I was reading a fantasy world version of “Mean Girls”.
The main character Camellia, my thoughts on her varies from mild annoyance to straight out hair reaping anger. The first portion of her book she spends a great amount of time talking about how better she is than everyone else.
It does, however, get interesting near the end (if listening to the audiobook like I was, the last hour) but really at this point it almost too little too late. Not sure if I really care to ramble through the rest of the series.

All in all, it was an ok read. Not good but not bad either. Maybe I was just way too super excited about it and had nowhere else to go with the book but down. Oh well, c'est la vie.
