I had a hard time understanding what was going on towards the beginning because there was so much to learn about this world, which is expected for a fantasy dystopian book. The story and descriptions were written well; it was just a lot of information to absorb. Once I got into the universe, I enjoyed the story and can't wait to read the second book.
I also want to note that the cover is absolutely beautiful and that’s what drew me to the book.
I listened to the audiobook and I thought the narrator was great. The way she created the voices for all the characters was wonderful. My favorite voices were Camille, August, and Sophia. I also like all Camille’s sisters' voices as well especially Valerie.
Even though, the belles was hard to get into at first. I thought Overall the belles was a fun read. I would definitely recommend this book to other readers who enjoy a fantasy element.
