"No one is a prisoner. Even you have the power to make your own choices."

I didn't think it was an awful book, but I didn't love it either. In the Kingdom of Orléans people are born with grey skin and blood red eyes. Beauty is highly coveted and can only be achieved at the hands of a Belle. The story follows Camellia Beauregard as she settles into life as the royal families 'favourite'. I found the descriptions overly flowery and repetitive, the main character was infuriatingly naïve and the love interest is not even worth mentioning.

The cover though is absolutely beautiful and realistically the main reason why I decided to pick this book up and give it a go. I am a sucker for florals so this cover design really hit the mark for me.
