It took me a few pages to get into the 2-chapter First Impression - I had a hard time picturing things, and thought the writing a bit overdone, trying to say too much to fast in setting the scene - but once the procession arrives at the actual court and the royal family appear and you get more insight into the narrator and the proceedings ... I admit it, I was hooked! Seems a new spin on a plot used many times, I feel 'Hunger Games' maybe mixed with 'Uglies' - but I'll take it! Would definitely love to read this one, now, thanks to Chapter 2!
