I'm definitely intrigued by this excerpt. The writing is immediately engaging, with a quick pace and a setup that hooked my interest. I haven't read Lavender House, the first book in this series, but now I want to. I'm neutral on the cover, though. I like the color and font, but I don't love the big silhouette.
