I loved the writing on this, I’m starting off with that, because I want to give a positive perspective on it. I bought it on a whim, I’m glad I did, but I’m also kinda meh on it.

I’ve been craving vampires, to the point that I’m considering a reread of twilight. This was good, but it did have a lot of cliches.

The whole “bad guy is way hot” bit has been a staple cliche in young adults books that I’m just super over. I use this a lot in reviews, but that’s a me problem more than likely.

I did love the writing, the romance, and the ending was fantastic, I am picking up her other books (the wrath and the dawn duology) and am very excited to receive those, despite not liking this as much as I want to.

Vampires in New Orleans sounded promising. I will probably pick up book 2, just depends on when it comes out and if I’m binge buying books.
