I will admit that at times while reading this book I had mixed emotions in regards to it. I really admired the main character, Celine, for the majority of the book. She fought against social norms, she battled her inner demons and she was unwilling to be the damsel in distress. I admired the author dealt with Celine's conflict over what happened in Paris. I respected the fact that she allowed for Celine to recognize the fact that while she may have done something "bad" she did it for the right reasons. I love that Celine never felt guilty for what transpired.

The whole Vampire thing was pretty ambiguous for the majority of the book, with it being hinted at but not spoken of. I think in the next book that will be much more upfront. I am actually looking forward to that as Celine doesn't seem like the type of character that lets things remain unknown.
