When I started this title I was so excited. Its been a while since a good vampire book has come out and this one set in New Orleans and on top of that being a historical, was one that I was sure going to win my heart! But sadly it failed to grab me. I thought that the setting was perfect as well as the time period but the word usage for the characters and the acceptance of modern day thoughts just didn't work at all. I wished that this would have gone full on historical or been set in modern NOLA. The story was just so bogged down with descriptions that slowed the story that I just couldn't love this one at all. I was interested in the characters but the story itself just didn't work to for me at all.
