I know there are a lot of people who are really excited about this book, but to me it was just "okay." I am rounding up a bit because I enjoyed the setting and the descriptions, but the characters and their relationships didn't feel fleshed out--especially our "hero." I would have liked to see our two lead characters' relationship develop more. I felt like the reader was "told" that the two characters had strong feelings for each other, instead of getting to "see" their feelings unfold. When it became obvious that there would have to be a second book to continue the story along, there was wasn't enough there for me to be interested in reading more about these people. Some will really enjoy this book, but it just wasn't for me.
