Ever since reading and watching The twilight series I was craving a really good vampire story! The Beautiful is no way close to twilight. Set in the 1800’s (which by the way I love to read about) New Orleans, Louisiana, for me the perfect setting to showcase the story. Also, this isn’t focused on vampires but the mystery and the secrecy makes the plot so intriguing that I couldn’t stop reading it. Was I expecting more vampire-scenes and gory? A little, yes. Am I disappointed? Absolutely not. As a reader, you can assume what each characters are but is never 100% confirmed up until the very end. Which is not he very end because there is a sequel to this story. And based on how it ended the plot is taking a major shift so I obviously can’t wait to read The Damned!
