Twilight x The Mortal Instruments with a side of a Jack the Ripper kind of vibe. I’ve read the entire Twilight saga and have only read City of Bones (first of The Mortal Instruments series), but mashed together reminds me so much of The Beautiful.
Set in 1872 New Orleans, a dressmaker who fled Paris named Celine meets a striking (and glimmering) young man, Sebastien in a not so pleasant way. Amidst chaos and a series of murders, with Celine as this killer’s next victim, a budding and undeniable attraction between her and Sebastien surface. Oh, but how does it all unfold?
Mainly written in third person, Ahdieh crafts a well-written story laced with mystery, intrigue, and forbidden romance. Btw, I was always Team Edward and I definitely saw some Edward in Sebastien.
