This was pretty good but I couldn't really get into. The characters were a bit lack luster to me, and I didn't understand or follow their motivations and choices. The villain did not click, and though the setting was vibrant and interesting, the plot felt a bit contrived. I will definitely continue reading this series as it is a beautiful cover and the language is so vibrant I definitely want to continue reading. There was a lot of hype about this book and it seemed to be right up my alley, but it just didn't click with me. I am sure there are many others who will read and love this book where I did not. I will try rereading this before the sequel, The Damned, comes out so I can give it another shot!
