Set in the late eighteen hundreds this book reveals a great deal of secrets, mystery, and a tension fill plot. Even though at the beginning it did take me a little while to get into the story I found myself indulging in what could possibly happen next to Celine and her friends. The style of writing captured my attention straight away on how it has been placed to capture the sheer beauty of New Orleans. Which left me wanting to read more.
With the build up of each chapter I became aware of how much I have learnt about the development of the characters and what their intentions may be to the plot and the story as a whole. How the author has balanced out the general background of the story it as left me feeling very much gripped and wanting to read even more.
