I listened to the audiobook and I am glad I did. The book has quite a few French quotes throughout and even though I took French in high school I didn't remember a lot of it but the narrator helped me understand what they were saying. I did feel like it had a slow beginning and a lot of the action was the last bit of the book but that is how it goes most of the time with first books in a series. I liked the mystery of who the killer on the killing spree is and that cliff hanger makes me want the next one now. I always love a good vampire book and this definitely gave The Originals vibes since it was set in New Orleans.I liked the author's writing style and how she left some of the characters past a mystery which I am sure we will find out more in the next book.
