Such an atmospheric piece of writing and frankly I'm unsure exactly how to write this review as I've so far only read a small portion but I'm desperate to get my thoughts together. I've certainly seen many gushing reviews but I've also seen some perhaps not so enamoured so clearly my curiosity was piqued.
This has evocotive, rich prose that harks back to a time when language was key . Introducing a young naive woman to the most famous of supernatural cities New Orleans. Yet it's a place of danger where death stalks the unwary and the writing style captured a world that no longer exists. Yes I know that recently Vampire stories have fallen out of favour but nonetheless there's a reason we are scarred of the dark and this lush piece of writing captures the essence of this intriguing, gripping story and I'm finding it very original and look forward to reading much more by this author.
