There’s a bit about this book that gives me Interview with a Vampire vibes, which isn’t a bad thing! I love a good vampire novel, but not the kind like a Twilight where vampires glow and there’s so much teenage drama our hearts can’t bear it. So that being said, this book pushes and pulls in opposite directions. On the one hand, New Orleans and vampires. Need I say more for the Anne Rice fans out there? On the other hand, we have a seventeen-year-old main character and a bit of a slow start to the story (for me, anyway), and this makes me feel a bit less confident about whether or not I’d really love it or if I’d just end up skimming quickly so I can find out what happens and move on. Mixed emotions on this one.
