Love is blind and is best complemented by wit
I can't fully express how much I enjoyed every word of this book. It's not only romantic, funny, and oh, so hot, it also puts some important themes forward without getting preachy about it. It's great to read a historical romance where the ladies are fully aware of the horrible situation they're in (basically products to be sold for their male relative's benefit) and willing to go to extremes to be free and happy.
Astrid is smart and quick and so prepared to do whatever it takes to protect her sister. And the titular beast is a growling teddy bear that's so easy to fall for. If you're even the tiniest bit of a fan of good banter between leads, then you're going to love every moment that these two share the page.
It's a twist on the classic story of a beauty taming a beast that plays both roles to perfection with fully realized leads, a dastardly villain, and an interesting band of side characters.
