Overall this book entertained me, a nice retelling of Beauty and the Beast - with some friction. If you read some of the 3 and 4 star reviews, they mention the fact that the story built and then stalled, or there was just alot of explicit sex scenes to fill pages and sadly I'd have to agree. I though the storyline was great, tension built, great characters but then - sex. And as another review mentioned, if Thane hated the very existence of people, her since she just happened to be there, why did he keep bedding her? Yes, he wanted total control and she wasnt going to give it to him but then she did, in bed. It just seemed not to fit with her strong character. maybe if the author had changed his attitude slightly to where he admits he's softening or shows a softening it would work better. But despite all that, this is a well written story and very entertaining for what it is- a quick, hot, steamy romance.
