If you love fairytale retellings, you won’t want to miss this one. The Beast of Beswick is a refreshing take on the classic Beauty & the Beast tale/trope. In this story, our heroine concocts a plan to marry the ton’s “beast” in a marriage of convenience in order to save herself and her sister from the machinations of her evil relatives. This story has some truly gorgeous prose and it remains loyal to the classic story in some ways while creatively verging from the trope into fresh paths in others. The characters truly pop off the page and I found myself easily sympathizing with our hero and heroine. If you’re looking for a romance that will pull on your heartstrings AND make you laugh, this is the perfect book to pick up
