This book was full of ridiculous scenes which made me laugh at points, I didn't quite understand why Astrid picked him to be her savior or what the attraction was. Plus they never seemed to talk, it was all about lust and physical connection. At one point, Thane gives her this big gift which was very sweet but I had no recollection of her ever mentioning her plans to him - it just came out of nowhere but somehow was the perfect thing she wanted. The lack of communication pervaded the book, Astrid and Thane seem to disappear during parties and somehow no one ever notices. They're gossiped about and don't seem to care, except that they care so much about society plenty of other times. I am so glad the book is over. I didn't really like any of the characters, except maybe Aunt Mabel - she was pretty funny. I don't think bodice-ripper romance is for me.
