Alright, let me start by saying I usually don't like the stereotypical 'alpha male jerk' type that's been becoming rampant in all romance lately. Usually, the second that personality trait comes into play, I put the book down as a DNF (Do Not Finish). This was an exception. While the main male character DOES have some issues I would like to see worked through, I see some trauma poking through that could use a therapist, I like how the author wrote this retelling of Beauty and the Beast during the Regency era.

To be fair, I expected it to be an almost perfect retelling, since it seems like thats all anything is anymore, but it wasn't! The main plot is obviously from the fairy tale BUT, the characters have their own spice and humor. The joys of it being an adult book instead of a kids. I loved the chemistry between these two and if she were to a make a second book? I'd read it in a heartbeat.
