Melodrama ahead
Too many overwrought feelings, too much angst right there in the beginning. We're already kissing away a tear in chapter two. It's hard to judge the first few chapters of the third book of a trilogy when you haven't read the first two, but it feels like we're deep in cliche romance territory, with the infodump-y friend conversations and the poor communicators and the possessive man tantrum. Unless you're a big romance reader who enjoys the tropes, I'd say skip it.
