Although I thought The Babysitter was a little slow to start, it didn’t take very long for the pace to kick in. The story unfolds via multiple characters’ perspectives which really helps flesh things out and kept me guessing almost right up until the end. There were a couple of subplots which I didn’t find necessary, especially the romance, but these minor flaws didn’t really spoil my enjoyment of the book.
Overall, I think The Babysitter is another winner for prolific author Nancy Bush and will please not only longtime fans, but will appeal to new readers as well. It’s a quick, suspenseful read with unreliable characters and a twisty, intriguing mystery. It’s perfect for summertime reading and I highly recommend it!
