I really enjoyed this First Look. I definitely get the slasher movie vibe from it because of the Babysitter Killer backstory. I like when a story begins introducing possible suspects early and then does a slow build to the big reveal, and that seems to be where this story is going. So far the characters are really well developed and we get a great introduction to the town. In particular, I appreciate how Bush describes the realities and stresses of caregiving. The clairvoyant nature of Jamie & Harley's joint dream of Irene adds a spooky element and Emma's pronouncements read more like prophecies. An excellent start!
