This was unlike any book I've read before and it'll be hard to find another one that will top it in the ways that it did. Escaping. Something, at some point, we all wish to do. To find about in a young story line like this one while also bringing heart and adult themes can be pretty hard to do. Yet, you can find that within the pages of this book. Mattie, the main character, brought all kinds of emotions that you would find in that of a teenager. It especially brought them along in terms of as a mother of a teenager. Friendship, escaping, being honest to yourself, having some problems getting through certain issues are all written in a honest way. There were a few places I got hung up on but I also read this one rather quickly wanting to know what was going to happen next.
