I read the excerpt before reading the blurb of the book, and I was so confused. The messages between Mattie and Will in the beginning were cute, and had me intrigued right away. But then the book goes into Mattie seeking out a stranger who clearly wants nothing to do with her and vague mentions of escapology before abruptly going into Mattie on her last day of of her junior year of high school. I'm curious, but not necessarily hooked.
