This was the selection for my IRL book club this month. It may have also been featured in Real Simple magazine.

Mazna and Idris are making a trip back to Lebanon to sell the family home. Idris from Lebanon and Mazna from Syria met one summer and kindled a relationship. Now many years later, with three grown children spread all over the place, everyone is going to meet in Lebanon. This multigenerational tale has so much going on you cannot rush it. At around 500 pages, you cannot skim through all of the secrets, lies, betrayal, and drama that goes on within this family. Set in Lebanon, Syria, and the US, this book uses its settings to further involve the reader in war in the Middle East and its dangers, as well as the escape to the US.

TAC is definitely the best book we have read for book club in a few months. It is rich in its story telling and deep in its emotions and secrets. There were definitely some jaw dropping moments in this book. Going to say this is not a quick read, definitely one I recommend though. My rating 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐.
