Based on the summary, this isn't usually the type of story I would gravitate towards. The story has a rather intense start but quickly pulls you in and immerses you into the life of the character. The descriptions are rich and give a full picture of the characters and their current struggles. The story begins with a character in a terrible situation as he is being separated from his family. We are shown his flaws and shortcomings as well as how he bravely accepts his current circumstances. The story then shifts to the present and follows a family as they reach out to arrange getting together. The interaction reflects the dynamic of many families as they struggle to make time for one another and all the differing personalities. As we take a closer look into these new characters we're still left wondering how this timeline will connect to the initial story. It's this missing piece of the puzzle that has me curious as to how it all ends.
