This book grabbed my attention immediately, and the intro was so wonderfully written that I just had to know what came next. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about the civil war in Lebanon that this book keeps mentioning, or the political climate at the time that ___ was living there, but I now feel inclined to do some research on the subject. I was again intrigued by the way part one started, and once I pieced together the connection between Ava and ___, I was very interested in the way their stories would come together throughout this book, perhaps when she and her family visit Beirut. The family dynamics between Ava and her parents as well are very well written and fun to read, and I can't wait for this book to come out so I can find out what happens next.
