I’m am so anxious to read The Animals of Lockwood Manor!! I heard the author interviewed and she was wonderful. To think this was a real happening during WWII!! I do remember stories of works of art being hidden but never about taxidermy! And a young girl who wanders through the manor suffering from her nerves!! Evokes an atmosphere of Jane Eyre and Rebecca and other gothic novels, with darkened hallways, and empty rooms, and strange and fierce animals hanging on the walls and staring back from shadowy corners!! Does the girl sent to care for the museum animals become friends with the lonely girl who is sequestered in her room or are they just as frightened of each other as they are of these animal ghosts!
