Hetty Cartwright has been tasked with overseeing a natural history museum collection, though she has no idea how daunting this task may turn out to be. Facing challenges by everything from Luftwaffe bombs to nature itself, nothing prepares Hetty for the hauntingly beautiful Lucy Lockwood. Lucy has spent most of her life isolated in Lockwood Manor, and is unprepared for the changes the addition of a museum brings to her life. Soon, however, strange things begin to happen with the collection: exhibits disappearing and animals moving as they please. As the occurrences multiply, Hetty and Lucy begin to realize that something or someone in the house wishes them ill.

I loved the creepy aesthetic that Jane Healey created in The Animals at Lockwood Manor! It reminded me of the TV show House of Anubis, with the surprises and conspiracy lurking behind every corner. This is Jane Healey’s debut novel, and I was quite wowed by it!

My Recommendation-
If you like books with a historical mystery vibe, The Animals at Lockwood Manor would be a great choice for your next read! As a fan of the Jackaby series and the previously mentioned House of Anubis tv show, I found this book to be quite enjoyable.
