I found the synopsis of this book to be extremely well done, a quintessential balance between informative and intriguing. Having been posted a day prior, I was eagerly awaiting the First Look. Now received and read, I am conflicted. On the one hand, there is nothing missing in terms of style or content. The writing was refreshing and the premise sound. The backstory was explained candidly enough that the character's situation was understood but was not so in depth that it trespassed on plot. On the other hand, if I had no synopsis, I would not even begin to guess where this book was going. The First Look was far too short and I feel this was a missed opportunity for the both the author and the publisher. The book is probably phenomenal but I can't honestly say whether it's worthwhile or not. All I can say is that it has potential. Thus I feel I can only give it a three star rating. As far as the cover, I think it's a bit lazy. The cut out of the leopard(?) seems superimposed due to the outside shadowing rather than integrated with the wallpaper, which also covers the lettering in a lazily artistic way. A Damask print with animals as the theme instead of a floral or fractal design would seem the way to go here.
