I instantly sympathized with Hetty, the undervalued female left behind by the war to care for the museum. Her orphaned background told as remembered past reminded me of Jane Eyre. And that's fitting because she alludes to Bronte's novel in her narration when mentioning Lockwood Manor. I only hope Major Lockwood is half as interesting as Mr. Rochester!
