This seems like the perfect creepy, gothic read - complete with an historic setting, an unstable young woman, and animal displays that disappear. I'm always interested in a new angle on WWII history - this seems like an intriguing "companion" book to "All the Light We Cannot See," which dealt with the removal of treasures from a museum in Paris during the war. I can't wait to read it! (And oh by the way, the cover is gorgeous. Love the red!)
