From the very first chapter, we get a glimpse of the haunting and ethereal writing that hints at a much darker story waiting is ahead. The descriptions of animals combined with the flashbacks of her childhood as well as the expected state of Lockwood Manor all swirl together, giving us a taste of the gothic experience we are about to undergo. I can’t wait for more.
